Prayers Needed

I know that I haven't posted in a LONG time, but I am posting now- asking for prayers. We have a MASSIVE wildfire spreading through our county. The fire started yesterday, in a neighborhood that my students live in, about 5 miles from my school. It has now burned more than 15,000 acres, over 60 houses and damaged 100 additional homes. We have students and staff members who have lost homes, been evacuated and some waiting to see if they have to leave their homes.

Please keep our children and their families in your prayers.

Here is the link - the videos and pictures are unreal.

Maggie and I are very lucky- we get to sleep tonight in our own beds, and not have to worry about waking up in the middle of the night with a fire at our back doors- but we have over 2,000 people that cant say that tonight.
To my staff members and my babies at school- I love you all and will be thinking about you throughout the night. Please be safe.
Much love to all- Dawn

I am Auntie Again!!

This is my favorite- Noah Gabriel Legg 1/20/09 Look at those cutie pie lips- dont you just want to kiss them.....

Noah and Scott's hands- look how tiny

Noah did not like laying oin his side- his nurse (Brantley- who was fabulous!!) had him on his side with his legs on a little pillow- but he didnt like laying that way, he squirmed and wiggled, she finally turned him over onto his tummy and he loved that.

Here he is on his tummy- snoozing away

Big sister Teagan and Noah- Noah was getting ready to go to Florence, and the nurses brought him into Holly's room to say goodbye. THey opened the doors of his isolette so that Teagan could touch him and tell him bye. It was so sweet. She took this picture to school the next day and wore her big sister shirt, she got to show her picture suring show and tell. She said that everyone wanted to see it 3 times. She is a very proud big sis.

Well who would have thought that we would be looking at Jelly Bean already. My sister Holly who was 31 weeks pregnant had to have an emergency c section on Monday (MLK Day). Her placenta had become 50% detached, so Dr. Price ran (yes ran) from his office to the hospital to deliver Noah (aka Jelly Bean). Noah was born at 4:56 pm. He weighed 4lbs 4oz and was 16 3/4 inches long. Because he was 9 weeks early his lungs were not fully developed, his Dr. thought that it would be better to have him in the NICU unit at McCleod hopsital in Florence. So the NICU unit nurses arrived with their special equipment and packed our little Noah up on Tuesday and headed to McCleod. Scott and I went to Florence, (Holly was still in Conway Hopsital),to check on Noah and being the very overprotective, soft hearted Auntie that I am , I wanted to stay with him. I didnt want him to spend his first night away from us with strangers all by himself. So I stayed, there was no where to sleep, I just sat in a chair beside of him and talked to him throughout the night. I told him about his family, and how much we all already loved him. He would wiggle his nose and scrunch up his face. His eyes were not opened yet, so he couldnt look at me, but I know that he heard me.

Well its day 3 in Florence now, and Noah is doing better, they were able to remove his breathing tube, and IV that was in his umbilical cord. He even opened his eyes today and his mommy got to hold him. So it looks like things are improving for our little Noah.

Rockstars!

We will, we will ROCK YOU! Teagan and Auntie Dawn had a blast playing Rock Band- Teagan was the drummer and I was the guitar player. After ever song Teagan would shout- "Way to go guitar player..." We had a great time playing rock band, making Christmas crafts
and a "&@** gingerbread house. Lets just say that if Mimi ever buys one of those again, Teagan can can put it together at her house.

*i am ready for Christmas Vacation!
*i want to find my Fairytale.... (I am beginning to wonder)
*i have a a wonderful family.
*i miss Granny
*i fear being alone.
*i hear Sarah typing on her computer in our office.
*i search for things to make my family smile.
*i wonder what Maggie will be when she grows up.
*i regret making STUPID choices
*i love my family, my friends,
*i forgive myself for letting people walk all over me.
*i ache deep in my heart for loved ones that are no longer with us.
*i always want to be right.
*i try to be the best person that I can be.
*i seem to always doubt myself.
*i know that eventually things will be ok
*i feel anxious when I am excited about something
*i dance when I have had too much to drink.
*i dream of being sucessful one day.
*i give to the American Cancer Society- Through Relay for Life- and tons of time to my school
*i listen to rock music- very loud
*i sing in the car to make Maggie mad!
*i laugh when Teagan says funny things
*i can't believe that my daughter is 17 already
*i write in my journal- somtimes the things I write turn into picture books
*i cry when I know someone is mad or upset with me.
*i sleep whenever I can
*i am excited about Christmas Vacation.
*i see the glass as half empty- not very positive- I know!
*i need to spend more time with my family
*i should try not to worry so much, but it's in my blood. Amen!!!

Ok, Amber I did it- It was kind of hard-

Beautiful Butterflies

I was visiting a blog that I watch regularly and noticed that he was making beautiful butterflies, when I looked closer I realized that the butterflies were more than art they were representing all of the children that died during the Holocaust. So being me- I wanted to help and I want to ask anyone else who reads my blog to help- I will be making butterflies and you can too. I am including the link to Dan's blog- http://dan99.blogspot.com/2008/11/butterfly-project-freebie.html on here you can read about The Butterfly Project, download butterfly patterns and see some completed butterflies. I hope that some of you out there will join me. Remember that they will be representing children, so of course children can participate as well. The only regulations are they can't be bigger that 8x10, and they cant have glitter on them. I look forward to hearing about your beautiful butterflies. Here is the link to the company that is collecting them, http://www.hmh.org/minisite/butterfly/index.html. You can visit for more info.
